El Defensor del Pueblo, Ángel Gabilondo, acaba de registrar en las Cortes Generales el informe “El sistema de protección de menores ante los casos de violencia sexual” en el que formula once recomendaciones, a la Administración estatal y a diferentes órganos de las administraciones autonómicas con competencias en protección de la infancia y la adolescencia, para mejorar la protección de menores que se encuentran bajo la guarda y tutela de la Administración.

La reunión conjunta de los Comités de Asuntos de Transporte y Contratación Pública; Internos y Étnicos; y Educativos y Culturales del Yuan de Control aprobó el 9 de junio de 2026 el informe de investigación. La investigación abordó el Proyecto del Complejo Turístico Zhaori de la Isla Verde, así como el desarrollo turístico de la Isla Verde y la gestión de la capacidad de carga ambiental.

Following the high-level panel on the importance of Ombudsman institutions’ compliance with the Venice Principles, the Office of the President of the UN General Assembly has now published the meeting summary. The IOI Board of Directors decided at their Board meeting held in Curaçao in May 2026 to continue the regional subsidy programme for the membership year 2026/2027. Members in good standing wishing to apply for regional subsidies can submit project proposals until 30 September 2026. Furthermore, the IOI General Secretariat will hold a webinar explaining the regional subsidy process and requirements at the end of August 2026. Persons interested are invited to pre-register.

The Ombudsman and Information and Privacy Commissioner has supported fairness, privacy, and access to information for three decades, and the future is looking even brighter for protecting the rights of Yukoners. This anniversary was celebrated with the gift of amending the outdated Yukon Ombudsman Act, in addition to an open house on Thursday, July 23rd.
