In the lead-up to tax time, the Tax Ombudsman Ruth Owen has released her first complaints data snapshot, showing a dramatic rise in complaints in recent months and highlighting debt complaints as the most significant topic of taxpayer concern.

The International Ombudsman Conference Rome 2026, promoted by the National Coordination of Italian Ombudsmen and the Ombudsman of the Lazio Region, concluded with strong participation and significant results. The event brought together in the Italian capital representatives of ombudsman institutions from numerous countries, along with members of public administrations, academia, and organizations engaged in the protection of fundamental rights.

Sir Peter Boshier KNZM, former Chief Ombudsman of New Zealand, has been awarded IOI Honorary Life Membership in recognition of the exceptional contributions and services he rendered to the IOI.

After a successful organization of awareness sessions at District headquarter, Malakand, another two sessions were organized by the Provincial Ombudsman of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in district Haripur. In order to inform the locals of the area about the role and responsibilities of the Ombudsman Institution, TMA Hall Haripur and University of Haripur were selected for the purpose. This project was supported by the IOI's Regional Subsidies Programme.
