The Northern Ireland Public Services Ombudsman’s follow-up report shows that since its report in 2023 there has been progress in how the healthcare system provides information to patients on waiting lists.

For people with mental illnesses, it is particularly important that the transition from inpatient treatment in the psychiatric wards of hospitals to follow-up care with practising specialists and outpatient follow-up care works well.
