The National Defence and Canadian Armed Forces Ombudsman, Mario Baril, presented his first Annual Report as Ombudsman.

The Office of the Ombudsman Punjab achieved a significant institutional milestone by attaining ISO/IEC 27001:2022 Information Security Management System (ISMS) certification from SGS United Kingdom Limited and United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) through Certification No. PK26/00000111, strengthening its framework for information security, data/information protection, and cyber security.

The Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman has officially changed its name to the Public Service Ombudsman, marking a new chapter for the organisation and reflecting its role in improving public services.

To examine the effectiveness of Taiwan’s disaster assessment mechanisms for a similar earthquake, members of the 6th-term Control Yuan (CY) questioned officials from the relevant agencies and consulted experts and scholars in April 2026, subsequently completing an investigation report. The CY has sent its investigation opinions to the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC), the Ministry of the Interior (MOI), and the Office of Disaster Management, Executive Yuan (ODMEY), requesting that they conduct a review and make improvements.

The Parliamentary Ombudsman, Judge Joseph Zammit McKeon, presented the Ombudsplan 2027 to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, the Hon. Carmelo Abela. The Ombudsplan sets out the priorities and activities of the Office of the Ombudsman for the coming year and will be tabled in Parliament in accordance with the Ombudsman Act.

The Ombudsman, Ms. Jurima Bryson LL.M. recently submitted the Annual Report of the year 2024 to the President of the Parliament of Aruba. The Annual Report provides insight into the development of the Ombudsman Bureau during the institution’s first year.
