El jueves, el 3 de julio de 2025, ante la Asamblea Legislativa prestó juramento, Aristides Javier Lasarte, como el sexto Defensor del Pueblo de la provincia de Santa Fe concluyendo así el proceso que se iniciara algo más de un mes antes cuando su nombre y el de sus dos adjuntos -Estanislao Parreño y Erika Gonnet- fueron por decreto gubernamental expuestos a escrutinio público de toda la sociedad y pasado el periodo de ley sin mediar impugnaciones de peso sus pliegos fueran remitidos al debate legislativo que les terminaría prestando acuerdo con mayoría requerida.

On the occasion of International Whistleblowers Day 2025, the Office of the Ombudsman of the Republic of Mauritius joins its international counterparts - including the International Ombudsman Institute, the African Ombudsman and Mediators Association, and the Association des Ombudsman et Médiateurs de la Francophonie (AOMF) - in commemorating this important day dedicated to integrity, courage, and public interest.

À l’occasion de la Journée internationale des lanceurs d’alerte 2025, le Bureau de l’Ombudsman de la République de Maurice se joint à ses homologues internationaux - à savoir l’Institut International de l’Ombudsman, l’Association des Ombudsman et Médiateurs Africains, ainsi que l’Association des Ombudsman et Médiateurs de la Francophonie (AOMF) - pour commémorer cette journée essentielle à la promotion de la transparence, de la bonne gouvernance et de la responsabilité publique.

The Ombudsman, Mr Jack Chan, on 2 July 2025 presented the 2024-25 Annual Report of The Ombudsman to the public. The Office exceeded all its service targets in handling enquiries, complaints, reassessment and review of complaints in the reporting year.

On 19 June, the Palen Creen Correctional Centre inspection report was tabled in parliament. The report was prepared by the Queensland Ombudsman, Anthony Reilly, who is also the Inspector of Detention Services. The report makes 27 recommendations for areas of improvement for the men’s rural prison.

Michael DeSilva, the Ombudsman for Bermuda, has submitted his Annual Report for 2024 to the Speaker of the House of Assembly in accordance with his statutory duty under the Ombudsman Act 2004. The report was tabled in the House of Assembly on 27 June 2025 and it is now available to the public.
