The Chancellor of Justice Tuomas Pöysti has submitted his report for 2024 to the Parliament and the Government. In 2024, a total of 1987 complaints were filed with the Chancellor of Justice while 2084 complaints were resolved. In the previous year, the Office of the Chancellor of Justice received 1668 complaints and resolved 1862. In 2024, the Chancellor of Justice continued the efforts to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of legality oversight focusing more strongly on structural oversight. A total of 43 in-house initiatives were launched by the Chancellor of Justice in 2024.

Queensland Ombudsman publishes new casebook for public sector
On 30 April 2025, the Queensland Ombudsman published its report, Casebook 2025: Helping agencies to improve decision-making. This is the fifth issue of its annual casebook series that provides summaries of complaints this Office has investigated, including the outcomes. It also provides further insights for the agencies involved to consider improving their procedures and processes.

Celebration of the 20th anniversary of the election of the first Ombudsman in Angola
On April 22 and 23, 2025, the Central Ceremony and the International Conference marking the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the election of the first Ombudsman of the Republic of Angola took place at the Auditorium of the Palace of Justice in Luanda, under the theme: “Ombudsman: 20 Years Serving Citizens and the Democratic Rule of Law”, as part of the celebrations of the 50th Anniversary of National Independence. The main objective was to commemorate both the 50th anniversary of Angola’s Independence and the 20th anniversary of the election of the first Ombudsman, and to reflect on the role of the Ombudsman in a democratic state through experience-sharing with national and international public and private entities.

The Hague 2024 - Conference Papers
The 12th IOI World Conference held in The Hague, the Netherlands in May 2024 was an opportunity to reconnect after the pandemic for around 200 delegates from all over the world. True to the motto "Working Together for Our Tomorrow", participants explored the four main themes of the conference "Climate Change", "Future Generations", "Value Dilemmas" and "Outreach". The IOI Board of Directors held its annual meeting from 11 – 15 May 2025 in Rabat (Morocco). The day was essentially reserved for the International Conference, with the central theme "The Ombudsman: Advances and Challenges".

Ombudsman in Cabinda to close Ombudsman Week 2025
The Ombudsman began a two-day visit to the province of Cabinda on 28 April 2025, where she held a courtesy meeting with the Provincial Governor, Suzana Fernanda Pemba Abreu. Florbela Rocha Araújo's trip comes on the closing day of Ombudsman's Week, celebrated annually throughout the country from 19 to 28 April.
