The Board agreed that the IOI’s regional subsidies program, through which members can apply for IOI funding to implement Ombudsman-related projects in their respective countries or regions, will be continued in 2025/2026.

New members from Africa, the Caribbean and Latin America, Europe, and North America were welcomed to the IOI family and the Board endorsed the IOI’s strategic plan for the period 2024-2028. The Board also heard presentations from the different Committees and Working Groups, which work towards implementing reforms in relation to the IOI’s By-laws and the travel policy for IOI Directors, and towards strengthening the IOI’s relation with international organizations and the visibility of Ombudsman institutions around the world.

The Board left Rabat knowing that the IOI will continue to offer its members a broad variety of interesting services, activities and support in the next membership year.
