Prompted by the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) re-activating or off-setting very old debts, on 26 March 2024, the Commonwealth Ombudsman, ACT Ombudsman and Inspector-General of Taxation and Taxation Ombudsman published: How to tell people they owe the government money – Best practice principles for notifying people about debts.

The Ombudsman of Sint Maarten, Ms. Gwendolien Mossel, recently attended the Caribbean and Latin American Regional Board of Directors meeting of the International Ombudsman Institute, which was held from March 11-14, 2024 in Mexico City.
