Dr. jur. Niels Fenger has been elected new Danish Parliamentary Ombudsman
The Danish Parliament, Folketinget, has elected Dr. jur. Niels Fenger as new Parliamentary Ombudsman. He will succeed Mr. Jørgen Steen Sørensen who has taken up an appointment as a Justice of the Danish Supreme Court.

BC Ombudsperson able to investigate whistleblower allegations under new law
Since 1 December 2019 British Colombia, Canada, has a new law that gives current and former provincial government employees a way to bring forward concerns about wrongdoing in workplace. The Public Interest Disclosure Act gives the Ombudsperson a new statutory mandate to conduct whistleblowing investigations if employees do not wish to report those concerns internally to their employer.

The Chancellor of Justice, Estonia, has just released its Annual Report 2018/2019. The report covers the period from 1 September 2018 to 31 August 2019. It gives an overview of the activities of the Chancellor of Justice in the areas such as the rule of law, the rights of the child, the rights of persons with disabilities, prevention of ill-treatment, protection and promotion of human rights, protection of privacy, and many others.

Ombudsman conferred Compliance Predicate to ministries and local governments
On 27 November 2019, the Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia conferred the High Compliance Predicate to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Religion, the Provincial Government of Jambi, the Provincial Government of Southeast Sulawesi and also 12 City Governments and 71 District Governments.

The Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia held a national seminar entitled "Fulfillment of Public Service Standards in the Context of Progressive and Participatory Public Services (Propartive)" on 27 November 2019 in Jakarta. The event was opened by the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs, Mahfud MD and attended by several Ministers, High Officials, Mayors and Regents.
