For the 13th IOI World Conference the National Ombudsman of the Netherlands proposed five themes to be discussed during the event. As the institution wanted to learn the views of other regions on the themes, they started online meetings with the IOI regional boards where the latter were invited to share their thoughts and ideas on the themes as viewed from their perspective.

The Australasian Pacific Ombudsman Region (APOR) held a conference on 31 October 2023 and its 35th annual Members’ meeting on 1 November 2023 in Melbourne Australia. The conference, themed "Through The Ombudsman Looking Glass: Now And Into The Future" was hosted by Victorian Ombudsman Deborah Glass OBE as Regional President.

Citizens’ Representative of Newfoundland & Labrador, Bradley Moss, has released a report regarding the Challenges of Parents and Caregivers of Medically Complex Children. He elected to investigate the issue of supports for family caregivers of medically complex children and adults under the own initiative provisions of the Citizens’ Representative Act.

On 4 November 2023, Marino Fardelli, the Ombudsman for the Lazio Region and President of the Italian Ombudsmen, will welcome his Polish counterparts, Mr. Marcin Wiacek, Commissioner for Human Rights in Poland, and Mr. Valeri Vachev, Deputy Commissioner for Human Rights in Poland, along with Mr. Zoran Pasalic, Protector of Citizens of the Republic of Serbia, for an extraordinary meeting dedicated to civil defense and shared values.
