On 1 November 2023, following the announcement of the new Francophone immigration targets, the Commissioner of Official Languages, Raymond Théberge, stated that these new targets were a step in the right direction to stop demographic decline of the Francophones outside of Quebec.

For the 13th IOI World Conference the National Ombudsman of the Netherlands proposed five themes to be discussed during the event. As the institution wanted to learn the views of other regions on the themes, they started online meetings with the IOI regional boards where the latter were invited to share their thoughts and ideas on the themes as viewed from their perspective.

He elected to investigate the issue of supports for family caregivers of medically complex children and adults under the own initiative provisions of the Citizens’ Representative Act.
