Last week the Senate has elected Mr Luis Raúl González Pérez as the new President of the Mexican National Human Rights Commission (Comisión Nacional de Derechos Humanos, CNDH). Mr Gonzales succeeds Dr. Raul Plascencia Villanueva, whose term ended.

For this purpose, the Human Rights Defender has created a second index of problems developed on the basis of requests and complaints received by the Office of the Human Rights Defender.

The Ethiopian Institution of the Ombudsman (EIO) hosted the African Ombudsman and Mediators Association (AOMA) - African Union (AU) 1st Bilateral Conference and 4th General Assembly from 4 to 7 November 2014 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. IOI President Adv. John R. Walters delivered a message of support in the opening ceremony of the Conference.
