The Public Administration Committee published a report in favour of the creation of a single Public Services Ombudsman for England. This report advocates a change to how ombudsman services are run in England and would mean a significant change to the Ombudsman Service in the UK.

From 26 to 30 April 2014, the Control Yuan (CY) held a Staff Exchange Program with the ombudsman/human rights offices of Asian-Pacific and African countries. The program was joined by six participants from Fiji, Kiribati, Papua New Guinea, Swaziland and Vietnam, who had just finished the three-week National Development Course (NDC) held by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The report features 40 case studies which illustrate the problems that led 9600 Centrelink customers to complain to the Ombudsman’s office between January 2012 and September 2013.
