The Office of the Ombudsman of Iowa presents its latest Annual Report for the calendar year 2013, providing a detailed insight into the Ombudsman’s activities and cases as well as legal challenges faced by the institution.

The Ombudsman Office has recommended the Government that consumers struggling to pay for electricity may be able to make allegations, that they are allowed to split the debt and the Administration’s intervention in situations of vulnerability.

On 25 March the World Bank and the IOI organized a round table on „The Role of Ombudsman Offices in Promoting Good Governance and Effective Service Delivery“, held at the headquarters of the World Bank in Washington, DC. The IOI was represented at the discussions by its second Vice-President Diane Welborn and Secretary General Günther Kräuter.

On 27 March 2014, Ombudsman Peter Tyndall addressed the issue of promoting good governance in his speech at the Governance Forum.

In March 2014, the Public Protector published her report on her investigation into allegations of unlawful and unethical conduct with regard to the installation of security measures and related upgrades at the president's private residence at Nkandla.  

In March 2014, the People’s Advocate of Albania released his Special Report on Albanian citizens seeking asylum in EU countries.

On 17 March 2014, the Government of Hong Kong announced the appointment of Ms Connie Lau Yin-hing as the new Ombudsman for a term of five years.
