Ombudsman Peter Tyndall has today, Thursday 25 June, welcomed the announcement by Minister Brendan Howlin and Minister Leo Varadkar that his Office will be able to examine complaints from the public about private nursing homes.

 

The Public Services Ombudsman for Wales has published his Annual Report for 2014/15, which was laid before the National Assembly for Wales on 24 June 2015. 

In May 2015 Danang Girindrawardana, Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia, was a panel speaker at the 2nd World Bank – International Ombudsman Institute Roundtable on the role of ombudsman institutions (OIs) in promoting citizen-centric governance and inclusive institutions.

The Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission (ACRC) of Korea (Chairman Sungbo Lee) and the Commonwealth Ombudsman of Australia (Ombudsman Colin Neave) signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in Canberra on June 10th, 2015 in order to enhance rights and interests of Koreans and Australians living in the other country and cooperation between the two Ombudsmen.

 

In order to create awareness and to bring the issue of child labour on our national agenda, the Office of the National Commissioner for Children in the Federal Ombudsman of Pakistan Secretariat with the help of UNICEF organized a major event at Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) on Tuesday, 23.06.

On 12 June 2015, 26 delegates of the Korean Anti-Corruption & Civil Rights Commission (ACRC) visited the Vienna-based IOI General Secretariat and the Office of the Austrian Ombudsman Board (AOB).

 

The last few weeks a group of People’s Deputies are executing a political order, making groundless accusations and are putting an overt political pressure on the institution of the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights.
