The 2012-2014 Annual Report of the Veterans Ombudsman tabled in the House of Commons yesterday reflects an action-packed year.

Government agencies are more focused on resolving complaints and meeting customer expectations than they were 20 years ago, but they still need to improve.

The Commonwealth Ombudsman, Mr. Colin Neave, presented the institution's thirty-seventh Annual Report. The report also contains the annual report of the Defence Force Ombudsman, Postal Industry Ombudsman and Overseas Students Ombudsman.

In a report released on 7 November 2014, the Québec Ombudsman recommends that all children 6 to 16 years old living in Québec have access to public education, regardless of their or their parents’ immigration status.

Three new reports just published by the EU Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) focus on different thematic areas of its Roma survey.

While statistics do not provide a full picture of the Ombudsman’s work, they do show that the office continues to deal with a large number of matters. This year, the Ombudsman received 35,456 complaints and notifications.
