Pursuant to Article 21.4(n) of the IOI By-laws, a special report shall be submitted to the General Assembly of the IOI “evaluating what progress has been made among the Voting members in fulfilling the requirements of the International Ombudsman Standard as expressed in Article 2.” These requirements represent the core values of our organisation: independence, objectivity and fairness.

De conformidad con lo dispuesto en el Artículo 21.4(n) de los Estatutos del Instituto Internacional del Ombudsman (IIO), la organización deberá presentar ante la Asamblea General un informe especial “de valoración de los progresos conseguidos por los miembros con derecho a voto en relación con el cumplimiento de los requisitos del Modelo Internacional del Ombudsman que se recogen en el Artículo 2”. Estos requisitos representan los principios fundamentales de nuestra organización: independencia, objetividad e imparcialidad.

Enquête pour analyser les progrès des membres
Conformément à l’Article 21.4(n) des Statuts de l’IIO le Secrétaire général de l’IIO est obligé de présenter à l’Assemblée générale de l’IIO un rapport « faisant état des progrès réalisés parmi les membres votants relativement au respect des principes sur lesquels reposent les institutions d'ombudsman énoncés à l'Article 2 ». Ces principes sont les valeurs fondamentales de notre organisation : indépendance, objectivité et équité.

The Ombudsman of Spain has updated the 2012 monographic report Human Trafficking in Spain, in order to know the status of recommendations made and 71 % of the recommendations included in the Ombudsman of Spain’s report on human trafficking have been accepted.

Austria has to provide the United Nations with periodical reports on the measures that have been undertaken to meet its obligations under ratified covenants. In this context, on November 20th 2013 the UN Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights evaluates the fourth periodic report of Austria concerning the implementation of the UN Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (CESCR).

Constitutional Court delivers judgment on case brought forward by the Ombudsman
In July 2013 St Maarten Ombudsman Nilda Arduin brought her first-ever case before the Constitutional Court of Sint Maarten, requesting the Court to review the new Criminal Code of St Maarten as to its compliance with the Constitution of Sint Maarten. On Friday, 8 November 2013, the Constitutional Court delivered its judgment.
