El 3 de diciembre se celebra el Día Internacional de las Personas con Discapacidad. Este día tiene como objetivo promover una mayor sensibilización e implicación de la sociedad en su conjunto, y de los poderes públicos en particular, en el esfuerzo por remover los obstáculos de todo tipo que se interponen entre las personas con discapacidad y el pleno disfrute de los derechos que tienen reconocidos.

The Danish Parliament, Folketinget, has elected Dr. jur. Niels Fenger as new Parliamentary Ombudsman. He will succeed Mr. Jørgen Steen Sørensen who has taken up an appointment as a Justice of the Danish Supreme Court.

BC Ombudsperson able to investigate whistleblower allegations under new law
Since 1 December 2019 British Colombia, Canada, has a new law that gives current and former provincial government employees a way to bring forward concerns about wrongdoing in workplace. The Public Interest Disclosure Act gives the Ombudsperson a new statutory mandate to conduct whistleblowing investigations if employees do not wish to report those concerns internally to their employer.

On 27 November 2019, the Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia conferred the High Compliance Predicate to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Religion, the Provincial Government of Jambi, the Provincial Government of Southeast Sulawesi and also 12 City Governments and 71 District Governments.

Certains détenus se sont plaints auprès du Médiateur fédéral de la manière dont ils sont fouillés à nu. Mal vécues par les détenus car humiliantes, les fouilles à nu augmentent le risque de tensions en prison. Le Médiateur fédéral a enquêté sur l’organisation des fouilles à nu dans les prisons belges et publie aujourd’hui son rapport d’enquête.
