In the run-up to International Women's Day, the Austrian Ombudsman Board and the Stiftung Forum Verfassung launched a follow-up format to the lecture series "One in Five", which was organised by MedUni Vienna in previous years. Students of social work and people in training for other social professions as well as representatives of civil society organisations came to the event centre of the Constitutional Court for an expert event on preventing violence against women.

The Office of the Ombudsman Punjab launched a comprehensive crackdown against overpricing, adulteration, and the sale of substandard or unsafe food items. A series of public complaints to the Ombudsman Office resulted in the immediate inspection across Punjab.

NSW Ombudsman investigation finds statutory failings in DCJ handling of ROSH reports
A newly released NSW Ombudsman investigation has denounced DCJ’s longstanding practice of closing ROSH reports on the stated basis that it has inadequate resourcing to undertake the necessary investigation and assessment of risk. “No Capacity to Allocate” – The Department of Communities and Justice’s practice of closing ROSH (Risk of Significant Harm) reports found this practice is contrary to DCJ’s statutory responsibilities, but has become ingrained as ‘business as usual’.

This award is open to ombudsman offices, human rights institutions, and organizations from around the world, recognizing innovative projects, initiatives, or actions that make local human rights a reality. She stressed the importance of clear and transparent communication from water companies.

The Flemish Ombudsman Service has been promoting the theme of digital inclusion for years. Digital inclusion means that everyone can participate in the digital society, regardless of age, income, or educational level. Yet recent figures show that 40% of the population is digitally vulnerable. This creates problems for some people when applying for grants, accessing information, and exercising their rights.
