El 30 y el 31 de marzo, el Comité de Asuntos Domésticos y Étnicos y el Comité de Asuntos Financieros y Económicos realizaron una visita de inspección al Consejo para los Asuntos Hakka y al Consejo de Agricultura del Yuan Ejecutivo, con el objetivo de conocer la efectividad de sus trabajos y las prioridades futuras. La delegación estuvo compuesta por 15 personas, entre ellas la presidenta Chen Chu y miembros del Yuan de Control.

Trailblazing Ombudsman has passed away
New Zealand’s first female Ombudsman, Nadja Tollemache OBE, has passed away at her home in Auckland. Ms Tollemache, who served as Ombudsman from 13 May 1987 to 30 June 1992, died peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones.

Este año se cumplen 30 años desde que se empezó a investigar la mediación para incorporarla a la Defensoría del Pueblo de la provincia de Santa Fe, y 27 años de la creación del Centro de Mediación y Resolución de Conflictos. En ese marco se llevará a cabo el Congreso Internacional: El Abordaje del Conflicto en la Agenda Global. La temática del Congreso girará alrededor del conflicto y la comprensión del mismo. El evento se desarrollará los días 5, 6 y 7 de julio 2022.

Austrian Ombudsman Board achieves A status accreditation with GANHRI
In April 2022, the Austrian Ombudsman Board (AOB) was officially recognized as A status institution by the Global Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions (GANHRI). The AOB is now one of 90 out of 130 institutions worldwide that are fully compliant with the ‘Principles Relating to the Status of National Human Rights Institutions (NHRIs)’ (“Paris Principles”).

Croatian Ombudswoman publishes new Special Report
Ombudswoman Tena Šimonović Einwalter submitted a special report to the Croatian Parliament entitled “The Impact of the COVID-19 Epidemic on Human Rights and Equality – Recommendations for the Strengthening of Resilience to Future Crises.” The Report analyses the impact of the epidemic during the course of 2020 and 2021 and provides 72 recommendations with the aim of encouraging and directing the process of the strengthening of Croatia’s resilience to crises.
