Recommendations on complaint about car damage due to sea water flooding not implemented
In terms of Article 22(4) of the Ombudsman Act, the Ombudsman Mr Anthony C. Mifsud and the Commissioner for Environment and Planning, Perit Alan Saliba, have sent to the House of Representatives the Final Opinion in relation to a complaint on car damages suffered due to sea water flooding at Birżebbuġa.

Proportion of Indigenous Women in Federal Custody Nears 50%: Correctional Investigator Issues Statement
Ottawa, December 17, 2021 – Today, the Correctional Investigator, Dr. Ivan Zinger, released new data that shows that the proportion of incarcerated Indigenous women has continued to increase unabated, and is nearing 50% of all federally-sentenced women. On January 21, 2020, the Office of the Correctional Investigator reported that the proportion of Indigenous men and women in federal custody had reached a new historic high, surpassing 30% of the overall incarcerated population. The combined men and women Indigenous proportion in federal corrections is now 32%, and climbing.

On 1 December 2021, the Office of the Ombudsman of Israel, in association with the IOI and AOM, hosted an international online conference on the theme "Protecting the Rights of Older People in an Age of Longevity", in celebration of the Israel Ombudsman's jubilee year.
