ACRC Korea and Commonwealth Ombudsman sign MoU
The Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission (ACRC) of Korea (Chairman Sungbo Lee) and the Commonwealth Ombudsman of Australia (Ombudsman Colin Neave) signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in Canberra on June 10th, 2015 in order to enhance rights and interests of Koreans and Australians living in the other country and cooperation between the two Ombudsmen.

New Chief Ombudsman appointed
On 18 August Judge Boshier was appointed as Chief Ombudsman of New Zealand. He will succeed Dame Beverley Wakem and take up that role and terminate his position as Law Commissioner on 10 December this year.

Control Yuan urges solutions to Kanjin aboriginal community’s longstanding problems
A Control Yuan (CY) joint committee recently issued its investigation report on the Kanjin aboriginal community located on the banks of the Dahan River in Taoyuan County. The community moved to the area several decades ago in search of work, building makeshift homes on the river’s shores. It is located in a flood zone where housing is technically prohibited, so residents have long been denied household registration.
