Board, held from 30 October to 2 November 2011 the Executive Committee has been re-elected by the members of the Board.

Ombudsman delivers annual report to Parliament
On 17th May 2012, the Portuguese Ombudsman, Alfredo José de Sousa, delivered to the President of the Parliament his Annual Report of Activities concerning the year of 2011. The Ombudsman received 7753 complaints, due to the current economic and financial context one out of five cases opened in 2011 concerned social rights.

A woman in her 90s suffered serious bruising to her face just before she died after falling in hospital, a Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman investigation found. The vulnerable lady was admitted to hospital with a chest infection and suffered severe bruising to her face when she fell out of bed, when an agency health care assistant was changing her bedding.

The Ombudsman`s office published the English version of the 2014 annual report on the actual topics of human rights and good governance. “To my regret, the year 2014 has not marked any significant positive shift towards human rights and good governance. Yet I am pleased to note that no rapid deterioration of the situation has been observed either”, says Juris Jansons, the Ombudsman of Latvia.
