European Ombudsman carries out a series of inquiries and initiatives into the COVID-19 response in the EU administration
In response to the unprecedented situation created by COVID-19, many of the EU institutions, agencies and bodies were required to adopt targeted measures and/or to adapt their working processes to deal with the challenges of the emergency. These ranged from helping to coordinate the public health response in the EU and the approval of dedicated medicines to economic measures to address the social and economic impact of the crisis.

ACRC recommended improvement on 155 corruption risk factors in 71 statutes in the first half of 2020
In the first half of this year, Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission (ACRC, Chairperson Jeon Hyun Heui) conducted a Corruption Impact Assessment which found 155 corruption risk factors in 71 out of 1,010 enacted and revised statutes of central government agencies and recommended improvement thereon.

Sindh Ombudsman orders reimbursement of medical charges
A complainant approached the Provincial Ombudsman Sindh (Pakistan) stating that the Finance Department was not reimbursing the medical charges he was entitled to under the rules. Due to the Ombudsman's prompt action, the process was expedited and redress offered to the complainant.

London man has to give up job after council houses him in Birmingham
A man had to give up one of his jobs because he was given accommodation in Birmingham – leaving him with a three hour commute. An investigation by the Local Government and Social Care Ombudsman has found London Borough of Merton at fault because it did not take into account the man’s employment status when making the offer of accommodation so far away.
