Control Yuan proposes corrective measures after inmate tortured to death
Prison administrators and inmates serving as “helpers” at Kaohsiung Prison tortured an inmate to death. They were prosecuted for the serious human rights violation of torturing the deceased inhumanely. The two prison administrators were convicted of torture and death by Taiwan Kaohsiung District Court.

Public awareness of Ombudsman service at record high
Public awareness of the service provided by the Public Services Ombudsman for Wales has increased to its highest ever level, a new national survey has revealed. The Ombudsman, Nick Bennett, said that high visibility was crucial to ensure Welsh public service users knew how and where to complain, and to make sure that lessons were learnt when things went wrong.
