ISRAEL | Israel Ombudsman presents Annual Report for 2019

Israel State Comptroller and Ombudsman, Mr. Matanyahu Englman, presented the institution’s Annual Report for the year 2019 to the Knesset (the Israeli Parliament) on 30 June 2020. This year the submission of the Report was marked by a special, historic event, the inauguration by the Knesset of the national "Ombudsday".

Ombudsman Englman initiated the establishment of the Ombudsday in order to bring to the fore the individual members of the public and the professionals who engage in complaint investigation on their behalf. A festive and significant ceremony was held on the Knesset floor wherein the importance of the Ombudsman's activity on behalf of the public was recognized and praised.

The Isreal State Comptroller also acts as Ombudsman. He fulfils this function by means of the Office of the Ombudsman. The Office is an objective, professional and accessible body that investigates complaints received from any person in order to protect his/her rights and to promote effective and just public service at all levels of society.
