The Ombudsman, Mr Jack Chan, on 29 May 2025 announced the launch of a direct investigation operation to examine the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government’s management of countryside ancillary tourist facilities to align with its efforts to develop green tourism and the pursuit of the ideas of “tourism is everywhere” and “sightseeing all over Hong Kong”.

La Sindicatura de Greuges de Barcelona participó en la reunión de trabajo anual de iDEM, un proyecto europeo para mejorar la accesibilidad y la inclusividad en procesos participativos. Los doce miembros del consorcio de esta iniciativa, entre los que se encuentra la Sindicatura, se reúnieron en Leeds (Reino Unido) el 8 y 9 de mayo de 2025 para poner en común los avances realizados y para definir los pasos a seguir del proyecto el Innovative and Inclusive Democratic Spaces for Deliberation and Participation (iDEM).

Entrega de los XX Premios del Concurso de Dibujos sobre DDHH
El Defensor del Pueblo, Ángel Gabilondo, ha entregado el lunes, el 12 de mayo de 2025, los premios de la XX Edición del Concurso de Dibujo sobre Derechos Humanos Defensor del Pueblo, en un acto celebrado en la sede de la institución. En esta edición han participado 2.720 escolares -1.831 alumnos de Primaria, 839 de Secundaria y 50 Educación Especial- de 191 centros. Han resultado ganadores siete dibujos.

At Itamaraty, DPU Coordinates Action for COP30
Representatives of the Federal Public Defenders' Office (DPU) met on Friday, 4 April 2025, with Ambassador André Corrêa do Lago, President of COP30, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Itamaraty) to discuss the institution’s participation in the conference scheduled for November. The objective is to ensure that the demands of Indigenous Peoples, Quilombola communities and Riverside Populations are prioritized in global climate negotiations, ensuring that their voices are effectively represented in international decision-making processes.
