Parliamentary Ombudsman Petri Jääskeläinen has asked the company that takes care of on-call health centre services to consider how it could make recompense to a patient for a violation of fundamental and human rights.

In its efforts to further increase the regional impact of the IOI, the members of the IOI Board of Directors decided at their Wellington meeting in November 2012 to once again make regional subsidies available to IOI members. Institutions interested in applying for a regional subsidy have to submit their project proposal to the IOI General Secretariat by 25 February 2013.

On 22 January 2013, Prof. Anastasiu Crisu was appointed as the People´s Advocate of Romania for a five year term by the Romanian Parliament.

On 29 January 2013, the newly established Greek Local Ombudspersons Network adopted a second resolution on the institutional status of the network.
