The Alberta Ombudsman’s 2012/2013 annual report is available for download.

Every year, the IOI publishes an annual report, to inform its membership about the developments and achievements of the past membership year. The IOI Annual Report 2012/2013 is now available in the three official languages of the IOI.

The Ombudsman Bureau of St. Maarten, headed by Nilda Arduin, has been elected Person of the Year 2013 by the Daily Herald newspaper. The Ombudsman Bureau presented several political decisions that were deemed not to conform with Constitutional Law.

Voice of the vulnerable: the role of ombudsman has traditionally been to speak for those who cannot, to give ordinary citizens access to justice through independent, impartial investigations of government services. With the help of his social media followers, the office selected the Ombudsman’s top 10 stories of 2013.

During its meeting held on 10 December 2013 at Karachi, Pakistan, the Board of Directors of the Forum of Pakistan Ombudsman has unanimously elected its new office-bearers.

On 10 December 2013 at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw the 25^th anniversary of the Polish Ombudsman was celebrated combined with the annual celebrations of the International Human Rights Day.

At its New York meeting in September 2013, the IOI Board of Directors acknowledged that the Ombudsman for the Ministry of Interior of Bahrain fulfilled the criteria set out in the IOI By-laws and accept the institution as Voting member of the IOI.
