Le rapport annuel 2024 relatif aux droits des enfants du Défenseur des droits est consacré au droit à un environnement sain. En s’appuyant sur des situations portées à la connaissance de l’institution, d’auditions d’experts et d’une consultation nationale menée auprès de 3 400 enfants, ce rapport est consacré cette année à l’impact de la dégradation environnementale sur les droits des enfants.

El 18 de noviembre de 2024 se ha debatido en la Comisión del Síndic el informe del Mecanismo Catalán para la Prevención de la Tortura (MCPT) de 2023. El MCPT visitó veintinueve centros con personas privadas de libertad e hizo recomendaciones para garantizar sus derechos. El trabajo en los centros penitenciarios es fundamental para garantizar la reinserción, pero la oferta es insuficiente y poco útil.

El Defensor del Pueblo, Ángel Gabilondo, ha registrado el pasado viernes, 22 de noviembre, en las Cortes Generales el informe Violencia vicaria de género. Las otras víctimas, coincidiendo con el Día Internacional de la Eliminación de la Violencia contra la Mujer, que se conmemora cada 25 de noviembre.

On 21 November 2024, the Ombudsman, Mr Jack Chan, announced the completion of a direct investigation operation into the handling of obstructions to passageways by bicycles owned by operators of bicycle rental services of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, and made eight recommendations to the Department.

The Ombudsman of the Kingdom of Lesotho, Advocate Tlotliso Polaki, regrets to announce to the international Ombudsman community, the passing of Honourable Mohale Henry Nt'saba on the 19^th November 2024, a few months before his 100^th birthday. Honourable Nt’saba was the pioneer Ombudsman of the Kingdom of Lesotho, who established the office from inception.

The Scottish Public Services Ombudsman has published a report spotlighting concerns about the fairness and consistency of grants awarded through the Scottish Welfare Fund. The report highlights issues with the distribution of the Fund, which provides grants to those in crisis. 

La institución Defensor del Pueblo ha solicitado a las consejerías de Sanidad todas las comunidades autónomas información para conocer cómo se coordina la actividad sanitaria con los centros de atención a la drogodependencia y reclamar que ésta, de no existir, se active.
