2021-03-16UNESCO calls for COVID-19 vaccines to be considered a global public good
UNESCO’s International Bioethics Committee (IBC) and the World Commission on the Ethics of Scientific Knowledge and Technology (COMEST) have called for a change of course in current COVID-19 vaccination strategies, urging that vaccines be treated as a global public good to ensure they are made equitably available in all countries, and not only to those who bid the highest for these vaccines. Both committees have a long track record in providing ethical guidance on sensitive issues.

Shapira, has selected Dr. Esther Ben-Haim, or Esti as she is called by her peers, to be the new Director of the Ombudsman’s Office. Her nomination been approved by the State Audit Committee of the Knesset (Israeli Parliament) in November of 2017.

A newly released NSW Ombudsman investigation has denounced DCJ’s longstanding practice of closing ROSH reports on the stated basis that it has inadequate resourcing to undertake the necessary investigation and assessment of risk. “No Capacity to Allocate” – The Department of Communities and Justice’s practice of closing ROSH (Risk of Significant Harm) reports found this practice is contrary to DCJ’s statutory responsibilities, but has become ingrained as ‘business as usual’.
