2024-01-18International Ombudsman Learning Academy launched
A learning initiative to help Ombudsman officers across Europe deliver quality services to the citizen was launched on 16 January 2024 in Manchester, UK. The Learning Academy of the European Chapter of the International Ombudsman Institute will serve as a specialized forum and training center where Ombudsmen and their officers will exchange ideas and practices, and develop new skills and modes of cooperation.

2024-01-18Role of Ombudspersons in advancing the rights of older persons
The Office of the State Comptroller and Ombudsman of Israel presents the findings of an international survey conducted in 2022, in which 55 Ombudsinstitutions from around the world participated. The survey addressed a number of issues, including the difficulties encountered by older persons in using the digital services provided by Ombudsinstitutions and the barriers preventing older persons from filing complaints.

2025-09-05Newly elected Vice-Presidents take office
The positions of the two IOI Vice-Presidents became vacant earlier this year and the IOI General Secretariat held an electronic ballot to fill these vacancies. The deadline for voting ended on 19 August 2025 and the newly elected Vice-Presidents are Ms. Nadine Mailloux, Ombudsman of Montreal (Canada) and Ms. Ayesha Hamid, Ombudsman of the Province of Punjab (Pakistan).

2025-09-05Workshop at NED University held on 2 September 2025 to select 10 ambassadors for Ombudsman Sindh
A workshop was held on 2 September 2025 at the NED University Karachi chaired by Mr. Sohail Ahmed Rajput, Honourable Provincial Ombudsman Sindh, to select ten students of NED University as Brand Ambassadors of the Provincial Ombudsman Sindh. The students will be given the task to disseminate information about the role and functions of the Ombudsman among the students and the public at large.

El Departamiento de Derechos Sociales de la Generalitat asume el compromiso con la síndica de mejorar el alcance de la renta garantizada de ciudadanía (RGC) entre las personas más desfavorecidas. La sindicatura había alertado de que muchas de estas personas quedan excluidas por una aplicación incorrecta del Reglamento de la RGC.

Une mère porte plainte contre la Direction de la protection de la jeunesse ( DPJ ) qui a tardé à reconnaître qu’elle était victime de violence conjugale. L’intervenante responsable n’était pas formée pour intervenir en pareille situation. Depuis l’intervention du Protecteur du citoyen, l’intervenante a reçu une formation complète sur le sujet.
