The positions of the two IOI Vice-Presidents became vacant earlier this year and the IOI General Secretariat held an electronic ballot to fill these vacancies. A total of 174 Voting members were in good standing and therefore entitled to vote and 93 of them participated and voted for the four candidates standing for election.
The candidate with the highest number of votes was Ms. Nadine Mailloux, Ombudsman of Montreal (Canada) and she was therefore declared elected First Vice-President of the IOI.
The candidate with the second highest number of votes was Ms. Ayesha Hamid, Ombudsman of the Province of Punjab (Pakistan), and she was therefore declared elected Second Vice-President of the IOI.
The IOI congratulates Ombudsman Mailloux and Ombudsman Hamid on their election. They will hold the office for the remaining term of the current IOI Officers, i.e. until the next IOI General Assembly (scheduled for 2028).
The IOI expresses its gratitude to all the colleagues who stood for election. Their willingness and interest in taking on a more active role in the IOI’s Executive Committee is highly appreciated.
