    La Procuración Penitenciaria de la Nación (PPN) manifiesta preocupación por la Resolución N° 1003/2016 del Ministerio de Salud de la Nación. La PPN ha recibido con preocupación el dictado por parte del Ministerio que deroga la resolución N° 1484 mediante la cual se establecía que antes del 10 de septiembre del corriente año, debía fijarse un límite máximo de camas adaptadas a los objetivos y principios de la Ley Nacional de Salud Mental.

    Recommendations by Ombudsman Sindh on issue of girls education

    On the initiative of Provincial Ombudsman Sindh, Pakistan, Mr. Ajaz Ali Khan, Sindh Education Foundation (SEF) has conducted a research study on the issues of girls education in Sindh, which was sponsored by the International Ombudsman Institute within its regional subsidies programme. The Honourable Chief Minister Sindh inaugurated the launching ceremony on 21 October, 2021.

    Doctor of Laws Petri Jääskeläinen has been re-elected to serve as Parliamentary Ombudsman of Finland for a term of four years from January 2022 – December 2025. Dr. Jääskeläinen has already acted as Parliamentary Ombudsman two four-year terms.

    Greater transparency needed for Government’s use of machine technology in decision-making

    New South Wales (NSW) Ombudsman Paul Miller has called for greater visibility of the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and other machine technology by NSW Government agencies. In a report tabled in Parliament, the Ombudsman has cautioned agencies that using machine technology in ways that do not accord with standards of lawfulness, transparency, fairness and accountability, could lead to findings of maladministration or potentially unlawful conduct.

    Raúl Lamberto es el nuevo Defensor del Pueblo de la Provincia de Santa Fe

    Raúl Lamberto juró este jueves como Defensor del Pueblo de la provincia de Santa Fe en una sesión conjunta de la Legislatura provincial. De esta manera, cumplió el paso formal para asumir el cargo para el cual había sido votado en Asamblea Legislativa por una amplia mayoría, tras ser propuesto por el Ejecutivo. El doctor Lamberto señaló que asume la titularidad del organismo con “mucha expectativa, porque el cargo es muy importante y la Defensoría es una institución privilegiada, que tiene una muy buena consideración ciudadana”.

Participants spoke about the challenges relating to the exercise of the right to education of persons with disabilities during the pandemic and exchanged views, methodological experiences and best practices on high quality inclusive education.

    La protectrice du citoyen, Marie Rinfret, rend publics le 23 novembre 2021 ses constats sur la gestion de la crise due à la COVID-19 dans les centres d’hébergement et de soins de longue durée (CHSLD) durant la première vague de la pandémie. Dans son rapport spécial déposé à l'Assemblée nationale, elle formule 27 recommandations à l’endroit du ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux et de son ministre pour qu’ils déploient des moyens d’envergure efficaces et durables pour agir sur les causes de la crise et pour améliorer les conditions de vie des personnes hébergées.

    Consultation on protection of human rights during peaceful protests in crisis situations

    We are pleased to inform you about a global consultation conducted by the UN Special Rapporteur on freedom of peaceful assembly and of association, Clément Voule, in partnership with the Global Alliance of NHRIs (GANHRI). This consultation presents an opportunity for NHRIs to provide inputs for a report which the Special Rapporteur is preparing on the protection of human rights in the context of peaceful protests during crisis situations. The report will be presented to the 50th session of the Human Rights Council.
