Global Consultation with NHRIs

2-3 December 2021, 12:00 - 14:00 (CET)   I   Online Event

We are pleased to inform you about a global consultation conducted by the UN Special Rapporteur on freedom of peaceful assembly and of association, Clément Voule, in partnership with the Global Alliance of NHRIs (GANHRI).

This consultation presents an opportunity for NHRIs to provide inputs for a report which the Special Rapporteur on freedom of peaceful assembly and of association (UN SR FoAA) is preparing on the protection of human rights in the context of peaceful protests during crisis situations (as mandated by Human Rights Council resolution 44/20, para 29). The report will be presented to the 50th session of the Human Rights Council.

The consultation is part of regional and global consultations the UN SR FoAA is conducting with the aim to gather the views and (field) experiences as well as concrete recommendations from various stakeholders on how human rights could be better protected in the context of peaceful protests during different crisis situations (such as security, political, public health crisis, etc).

We kindly remind you that the call for inputs from the mandate of the UN SR FoAA for his report is still open. Deadline is fixed to 30 November 2021. You can submit your contributions here.

This event is for NHRIs only. Interpretation will be provided in English, Spanish and French. Register here to participate at the event (deadline 1 December 2021); you will receive a Zoom link a few days before the event.
