Comisión Nacional de Derechos Humanos mantiene encuentro con grupos de trabajadores, defendiendo los derechos humanos laborales
El 10 de mayo de 2021, la Comisión Nacional de Derechos Humanos llevó a cabo un foro de intercambio sobre los derechos laborales. Entre los participantes en este se encontraban los líderes de sindicatos nacionales, así como los representantes que se dedican a temas de seguridad y salud laboral, la fuerza laboral de los jóvenes y los derechos laborales en las instituciones gubernamentales a largo plazo, sumando un total de 13 representantes. En el foro se intercambiaron opiniones sobre temas de derechos humanos laborales y la revisión de leyes y políticas existentes.

Ombudsman de la Ville de Montréal élue présidente du Forum Canadien des Ombudsman (FCO)
Lors de leur assemblée annuelle qui se tenait le 16 juin dernier, les membres du Forum canadien des ombudsmans (FCO) ont élu Me Nadine Mailloux, ombudsman de la Ville de Montréal, au poste de présidente du Conseil d’administration. Ce mandat sera d’une durée de deux ans. Me Mailloux était vice-présidente du conseil depuis 2017.

Romanian Constitutional Court reinstates People's Advocate
In recent weeks, a lasting crisis concerning the People's Advocate of Romania came to a head. Earlier this year, in May, the Romanian Parliament had taken the unprecedented and legally controversial step to reject the last three annual reports of the People’s Advocate. Subsequently, on 16 June, the Parliament voted to dismiss the incumbent, Ms Renate Weber, for alleged violations of the law. This week, the Romanian Constitutional Court ruled on a challenge to this dismissal and found it to be unconstitutional.

L'Ombudsman de l'Ontario Paul Dubé a souligné aujourd'hui l'importance d'une surveillance indépendante sur les services publics en temps de crise – et il a attiré l'attention sur de graves lacunes dans les secteurs de la santé publique et du maintien de l'ordre. Dans son Rapport annuel 2020-2021, l’Ombudsman explique en détail comment son Bureau a aidé des milliers d'Ontarien(ne)s à s’orienter au milieu des renseignements confus et évoluant rapidement sur les services publics pendant la pandémie de COVID-19. Qu’il s'agisse de simples renvois ou d’enquêtes complexes, les interventions du personnel de l’Ombudsman ont permis de combler des lacunes de systèmes sous pression.

Se recuerda que en el Perú persisten estereotipos que afectan a dicha población, haciéndolas especialmente vulnerables ante la violencia y discriminación. Al conmemorarse hoy el Día Internacional del Orgullo, la Defensoría del Pueblo exhorta a las próximas autoridades del Ejecutivo y del Congreso a discutir las iniciativas legislativas sobre matrimonio igualitario, identidad de género y la prohibición de terapias de reconversión, respecto de las cuales la institución ha emitido opinión favorable y aún no han sido sometidas a aprobación.

Nova Scotia Ombudsman William A. Smith said the year 2020-2021 has been "like no other" for his Office, as it adapted to the new normal of the COVID-19 Pandemic. Mr. Smith released his annual report today, June 29, 2021. Petri Jääskeläinen, the Parliamentary Ombudsman, presented the Parliamentary Ombudsman's Annual Report 2020 to Anu Vehviläinen, Speaker of Parliament, on Thursday 17 June. Like the previous year, a record number of complaints were received in 2020, in total 7,059. This is around 800 (13%) more than in 2019 (6,267).
