Proposed amendments to the Law on the Legal Status of Aliens equated with legalization of human rights violations
Seimas Ombudswoman Milda Vainiutė urged the authorities not to adopt amendments to the Republic of Lithuania Law on the Legal Status of Aliens, that would allow human rights violations and pose a threat to vulnerable migrants. After presenting the assessment of the proposed legal regulation, the Seimas Ombudswoman acknowledged that the draft law contradicts not only human rights, but also Lithuania’s international obligations.

Recommandation pour inscrire un droit d’accès à internet dans la Constitution
Le Médiateur fédéral a recommandé à la Chambre des représentants d’ajouter à l’article 23 de la Constitution un droit d'accès à internet, à côté notamment des droits au travail, à un logement décent et à la sécurité sociale. Pour réduire la fracture numérique, le Médiateur fédéral plaide également pour maintenir des alternatives à la digitalisation et toujours laisser une place aux contacts directs et humains.

A 71-year-old cancer patient died after a Health Board provided her with a “very poor standard of care”, the Public Services Ombudsman for Wales has found. The Ombudsman launched an investigation after receiving a complaint about the care given to Mrs X (anonymised) in December 2019 by Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board.
