On 21 November 2025, the Oversight of the Public Interest Disclosures Act 2022 Annual Report 2024–25 was tabled in the Parliament of NSW. The Annual Report includes information about agency activities to meet the requirements of the Public Interest Disclosures Act 2022, and voluntary public interest disclosures received between 1 July 2024 and 30 June 2025.

Más allá de la importancia institucional para toda la provincia, se trató de un momento trascendental para la Defensoría del Pueblo, ya que el texto reformado de la Carta Magna incluye al organismo, 35 años después de su creación por ley.

This report concerns the reviewable deaths of children in NSW during 2022 and 2023, and the institution's work and activities in relation to reviewable deaths since its last such report in November 2023.

Fairness under pressure: BC Ombudsperson highlights rising complexity and urgency in complaints about public service
The BC Ombudsperson says people in British Columbia are facing a growing mix of pressures when trying to access fair public services. Services are becoming more complex to navigate. Public sector budgets are tightening. And increasingly, decisions are being shaped by AI or automated decision making. In his 2024/25 Annual Report, released on 18 November 2025, Ombudsperson Jay Chalke says many of the matters reaching his office are now crisis-driven, and points to cases where people were left without essential supports until his office intervened.

Investigation Report: Weaponising Child Support: when the system fails families
An investigation by the Commonwealth Ombudsman, released in June 2025, found the Government agency, Services Australia, is not doing enough to identify and respond to financial abuse through the Child Support program. This financial abuse is commonly referred to as 'the weaponisation of Child Support'.

DPU delivers international documents to the COP30 presidency
In a symbolic moment held in the Blue Zone at COP30, the Federal Public Defenders' Office, represented by Federal Public Defender-General Leonardo Magalhães, officially delivered two international documents to the Presidency of the United Nations Climate Change Conference. The documents delivered – the DPU Declaration on the Need for a Comprehensive Anti-Discrimination Law in Brazil and the RINDHCA-DPU Declaration of Principles on Human Rights and Climate Action – synthesize a joint effort of international and regional cooperation aimed at strengthening the integration between human rights and climate policies.
