La CDHCM reconoce que existe un marco normativo adecuado para abordar de manera integral la violencia de género y garantizar la justicia para las personas afectadas por esta problemática; no obstante, aún queda un largo camino para cumplirla a cabalidad y será un desafío mantenerla actualizada con los más altos estándares de derechos humanos que se desarrollan a nivel global.

Ontario announces re-appointment of Ombudsman and Integrity Commissioner
The Legislative Assembly of Ontario has reappointed both its Ombudsman and Integrity Commissioner for another five years. Ombudsman Paul Dubé and Integrity Commissioner Hon. J. David Wake have served in their current roles since 2016. Their respective terms as Officers of the Assembly were extended by a unanimous vote of MPPs at Queen’s Park on 30 November 2020.

Comité de Asuntos Financieros y Económicos del Yuan de Control supervisa al Ministerio de Trabajo
Con el fin de comprender la implementación de asuntos laborales, tales como políticas laborales, seguro laboral, jubilación, bienestar, inspección laboral, planificación del sistema de igualdad y supervisión, el Comité de Asuntos Financieros y Económicos del Yuan de Control (YC) supervisó al Ministerio de Trabajo el 30 de octubre de 2020. Durante la visita, la delegación escuchó un informe de dicho ministerio e intercambió opiniones.

On 24 November 2020, the State Comptroller and Ombudsman of Israel held an international Zoom Webinar under the auspices of the IOI on the topic of “Covid-19 and the Ombudsperson - Rising to the Challenge of a Pandemic”. The webinar brought together participants from 50 Ombudsman offices around the world to learn how a long-term crisis can still act as a platform for best practices and improvement.
