UK | NIPSO Quarterly Bulletin – Winter 2020

The Northern Ireland Public Services Ombudsman (NIPSO) launches the winter edition of its Quarterly Bulletin. The Bulletin aims to provide readers with a short, easy-to-read summary of news from the office, drawing attention to NIPSO’s most recent investigation reports, providing updates on new initiatives, and highlighting other aspects of the Ombudsman’s work.

The Quarterly Bulletin (Winter 2020) presents the new Ombudsman for Northern Ireland, Margaret Kelly, who took up post on 19 August and who, prior to becoming Ombudsman, worked in the voluntary and community sector for over 30 years.

The Bulletin further informs about NIPSO’s Annual Report 2019/2020, the office’s approach to complaints and investigations during COVID-19, the Ombudsman’s report into the administration of Personal Independence Payments or the series of complaints forums, where representatives from NIPSO meet with complaints handling teams across a range of public bodies to discuss all matters related to complaints procedures and practices.
