Summary of the Ararteko’s 2024 Annual Report now available in English
The Ararteko has prepared a summary of its 2024 Annual Report in English and French to share the main lines of its content at the international level. The purpose of making this report available internationally is to inform peer institutions about the most important aspects of the institution's work and, in doing so, pave the way for future exchanges of concerns and best practices among Ombuds institutions that share the common goal of advancing citizens' rights.

Ombudsman Sindh launches collaborative outreach initiative with UN agencies and civil society
Mr. Muhammad Sohail Rajput, Provincial Ombudsman Sindh, chaired a high-level meeting attended by representatives of prominent UN agencies, foreign and local NGOs, community based organizations, local support organizations, and civil society organizations to formally launch the “Awareness and Outreach Program - A Collaborative Initiative.” This initiative is aimed at strengthening public awareness of citizens’ rights, promoting transparency and accountability, and enhancing the visibility and accessibility of grievance redress mechanisms across Sindh.

National Ombudsman releases Annual report 2024: Put Citizens First
A government that truly serves its citizens makes plans that are realistic and feasible. Cabinet plans should never lead to unrealistic or unlawful plans for which others would get the blame if and when things go wrong. That is what the Ombudsmen write in their 2024 Annual Report, which is availiable now.

Sindh Ombudsman establishes Climate & Disaster Justice Unit
The Provincial Ombudsman Sindh, Mr. Muhammad Sohail Rajput, inaugurated the one-of-its-kind Climate & Disaster Justice Unit, a pioneering initiative to ensure expeditious and justifiable redressal of complaints stemming from climate-related and man-made disasters. The Unit will be a fast-paced mechanism resolving issues of delay, corruption, or neglect in relief, rehabilitation and public service delivery. It will be working on safeguarding vulnerable groups, inclusive governance, and coordination with UN agencies, NGOs, and civil society.

La Défense Civique italienne devient un point de référence croissant en Europe
À l'occasion de la réunion du Coordonnateur National des Défenseurs Civiques italiens, qui s’est tenue à Alghero les 20 et 21 juin 2025, deux invités internationaux de renom ont pris part aux travaux : Xavier Cañada Bonaetxea, Raonador del Ciutadà d’Andorre, et Javier Hernández Garcia, ancien Lugarteniente du Justicia de Aragón. Leur participation active a confirmé la place centrale croissante du système italien de Défense Civique dans le paysage européen, notamment en ce qui concerne les droits fondamentaux, l’accès à l’administration publique, la médiation institutionnelle et la protection des personnes vulnérables.

Italian Ombudsman Institutions Increasingly Recognized as a European Point of Reference
On the occasion of the meeting of the National Coordination of Italian Regional Ombudspersons, held in Alghero on 20–21 June 2025, two distinguished international guests took part in the proceedings: Xavier Cañada Bonaetxea, Raonador del Ciutadà of Andorra, and Javier Hernández Garcia, former Lugarteniente of the Justicia de Aragón. Their active participation confirmed the growing centrality of the Italian Ombudsman system in the European context, particularly in matters relating to fundamental rights, access to public administration, institutional mediation, and the protection of vulnerable individuals.
