Programa para afiliar los esfuerzos de anticorrupción en Bueno Aires
La Academia Internacional contra la Corrupción con sede en Austria (International Anti-Corruption Academy, IACA) presenta un nuevo programa de siete días para profesionales que buscan afilar sus esfuerzos de anticorrupción. Beginning with September 1, the Ontario Ombudsman is officially able to take complaints about the province’s 82 school boards. The historic new expansion of the Ombudsman’s mandate was granted with the passage of Bill 8, the Public Sector and MPP Accountability and Transparency Act, 2014.

National Ombudsman notes Points for Improvement in Repatriation Process
A study by the National Ombudsman regarding repatriation processes concludes that some aspects of this procedure can be improved. The Ombudsman has made recommendations to the State Secretary of Security and Justice with regard to the availability of medical care, the accessibility of the complaints procedure, and the exchange of information. In his report, he also advocates multidisciplinary supervision of the entire repatriation process as well as standard investigation of incidents.

The Constitutional Court repealed the provisions of the Mental Health Act at the Ombudsman’s request
The Constitutional Court of the Republic of Slovenia repealed a part of the Mental Health Act at its session on 10 June 2015. The third sentence of the second paragraph of Article 74 is repealed, namely the provision defining that on behalf of a person who has been deprived of their capacity to conclude contracts, consent for admission to a secure ward is given by a legal representative. It also repealed the third sentence of the third paragraph of Article 74 of this Act, i.e. the provision regulating that only the legal representative of the person in a secure ward may withdraw such consent at any time or request that the person be released from the ward.

Refugee crisis - the time has come for the EU to act as one
