The Victorian Ombudsman today released her latest report "Investigation into allegations of collusion with property developers at Kingston City Council."The Ombudsman investigated the Council's planning approval processes for the Patterson Lakes marina area and allegations a senior planning officer and two former councillors had corrupt and improper dealings with property developers.

Publication on access to justice for vulnerable and energy-poor consumers
A new publication by Naomi Creutzfeldt, Chris Gill, Marine Cornelis, and Rachel McPherson offers a novel socio-legal approach to access to justice, alternative dispute resolution, vulnerability and energy poverty. It assembles the findings of an interdisciplinary research project studying access to justice and its barriers in the UK, Italy, France, Bulgaria and Spain (Catalonia).

El Síndic reclama con urgencia actuaciones para paliar la falta de plazas residenciales para niños con discapacidad
Durante los últimos años el Síndic ha recibido quejas ante la lista de espera de asignación de una plaza en un recurso residencial para jóvenes menores de 18 años con discapacidad. Con el análisis de los casos concretos estudiados, el Síndic ha podido constatar que la lista de espera para acceder a esta tipología de recurso avanza muy lentamente así como una falta de plazas suficientes de este tipo de dotación.

Public Defender of Georgia Becomes Member of IOI Board of Directors
We are pleased to announce that on November 15, 2021, the Public Defender of Georgia, for the first time in the history of the Public Defender’s Office, has started fulfilling the duties of a member of the Board of Directors of the International Ombudsman Institute (IOI). The Public Defender’s Office will represent the European region in the Board. The Office was elected a member of the European region in 2019. The Board of Directors oversees the organization's activities and makes decisions about its future activities.
