Canada | 2025-2026 Alberta Ombudsman Annual Report Release

The office of the Alberta Ombudsman, Kevin Brezinski, is pleased to share its 2025-2026 Annual Report covering the institution's work as they continue to serve Albertans by promoting fairness, accountability, and transparency in public administration.

The report showcases investigation stories from the office and covers its efforts to help Albertans with their complaints about administrative unfairness. The Ombudsman received a total of 6,472 cases in 2025-2026, the highest in recent history and an increase of 15% from last year. Of these, a record 3,134 were written complaints, up 41% over the previous year and 114% compared to four years ago.
