Ombudsperson Raymonde Saint-Germain released her findings and recommendations with respect to the public service and the health and social services network when tabling her annual report in the Quebec National Assembly, on last September 25.

The IOI Board of Directors held its annual meeting in New York, USA from 23 to 24 September 2013. The meeting was hosted by the North American Region of the IOI.

Forty National Ombudsmen from all over Europe will meet in Dublin Castle to exchange ideas and experiences in order to promote best practice among European Ombudsmen.

A new report by the Health Service Ombudsman, published on World Sepsis Day (13 September), reveals not enough is being done to save the lives of sepsis patients. 37,000 patients die of sepsis each year. The report highlights significant failings in the diagnosis and treatment of severe sepsis.

This morning, IOI Secretary General Günther Kräuter attended the official opening of this year's IOI Ombudsman Practice Training which is held by the International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA) in Laxenburg, Vienna.
