The Protector of Citizens of the Republic of Serbia published its Annual Report 2012 in English. In total, in 2012 the Protector of Citizens acted upon 4.474 complaints, constituting a significant increase compared to 2011.

The European Court of Justice in Luxembourg has started dealing with the issue of long-time care benefits that Slovakia is not paying to its citizens living in the Czech Republic, on the initiative of Czech ombudsman Pavel Varvarovsky.

Mr Abdul Rauf Chaudhry was appointed as Federal Tax Ombudsman by President Asif Ali Zardari, on the advice of the Prime Minister. Ombudsman Chaudhry has been appointed for a period of four years and followes former Federal Tax Ombudsman Muhammad Shoaib Suddle, whose four-year tenure expired on 2 June 2013.

A young man became a victim twice ― of the crime committed against him and also of the service he received from the Youth Offending Team and the Trafford Metropolitan Borough Council. Both failed to handle the case properly.

On 12 July 2013, Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights Ms. Valeriya Lutkovska and the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation, Mr. Vladimir Lukin, met in Moscow to discuss possible ways of cooperation.
