Taking cognizance of an illegal and arbitrary administrative order the Ombudsman Sindh, Asad Ashraf Malik directed the Inspector General of Prisons Sindh, to withdraw cancellation orders of appointment of eight candidates for the post of warders and restore their services with retrospective effect. The Ombudsman issued these orders on complaint filed by one of the aggrieved candidates.

With little money to spend, inmates in residential institutions are compelled to be “creative” – found Ombudsman Máté Szabó in his recent report. The sum of the spending money which inmates receive remained the same, although prices of the most preferred consumer goods, had increased many times. As a consequence, inmates are compelled to barter among themselves.
