Azerbaijan | Monitoring by National Preventive Group are being continued

According to the instruction of the Commissioner for Human Rights, Elmira Suleymanova Ombudsman’s National Preventive Group (NPM) conducted monitoring in a Social Service Facility for children with limited mental and physical capacities without prior notification.

The purpose of this visit was to monitor the general living conditions and treatment in the facilities as well as the state of ensuring children’s rights.

Doctors of the NPG also participated in this visit. All corps of the facility, including sleeping, training and rehabilitation rooms, canteen and kitchen, rooms for leisure time, as well as art, music rooms, gym  were monitored.

During the meeting with children, they didn’t complain about the condition, nutrition, and treatment.

It was found that the facility is well equipped with modern furniture, that it meets modern standards and that living conditions, nutrition, food security, healthcare, provision of other rights are assessed as satisfactory.

Finally, the facility administration was given relevant recommendations for further improvement of living conditions.
