"People first" - Visegrád Group's Ombudsmen
The Four Visegrád Ombudsmen, including the Public Defender of Rights of the Czech Republic, the Commissioner for Fundamental Rights of Hungary, the Public Defender of Rights of the Slovak Republic and the Deputy Commissioner for Human Rights of the Republic of Poland, held a meeting in Visegrád, Hungary, from 30 September to 02 October, 2015. Adult social care complaints to the Ombudsman on the increase
The Local Government Ombudsman (LGO) is publishing its complaints statistics for adult social care – including data for both councils and private care providers – in its Annual Review of Adult Social Care Complaints 2014/15. After Ombudsman intervention, the Department of Education and Skills reconsider seeking recovery of overpayments made in error to students
In February 2016 the Ombudsman, Peter Tyndall, initiated a systemic investigation involving the Department of Education and Skills and the Student Universal Support Ireland (SUSI). SUSI had been established as Ireland's single national awarding authority for all higher and further education grants. Niagara Region infringed journalist’s rights: Ombudsman makes recommendations
Ontario Ombudsman Paul Dubé called on the Regional Municipality of Niagara to apologize publicly to a local journalist and a citizen blogger for seizing their property and ejecting them from a council meeting last December. The region’s actions were unreasonable, unjust, wrong and contrary to law, Mr. Dubé’s investigation found.

Ombudsman Hong Kong published Brief Report 2018
The Ombudsman of Hong Kong, Ms Connie Lau, published the Office of The Ombudsman’s Brief Report 2018 on 31 January. The Office received a total of 10,130 enquiries and 4,870 complaints in 2018. The figures were at similar levels to those in the past few years, with an average of 850 enquiries and 400 complaints per month.

The European Forum Alpbach 2019 hosted a breakout session by the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) and the IOI on “Human Rights Under Pressure: The Role of Ombudspersons and National Human Rights Institutions”. The IOI was represented by its President and Irish Ombudsman Peter Tyndall.
