On 23 June 2022, the Acting Commonwealth Ombudsman, Penny McKay, published a report on the National Disability Insurance Agency’s (NDIA) preparation to meet the Participant Service Guarantee (PSG). The report is the result of an investigation into the NDIA’s preparation to meet the PSG, which was introduced into legislation in Australia on 1 April 2022.

Ombudsman Toronto to Undertake Oversight of Toronto Police
City Council on 8 April 2021 unanimously approved the biggest change in police oversight in Toronto's recent history. It asked Ombudsman Toronto to develop a Memorandum of Understanding with the Toronto Police Services Board and the Toronto Police Service, giving the Toronto Ombudsman authority to review the fairness of Toronto Police procedures and programs.

Public Protector to sign agreement with Gauteng Premier as part of stakeholder roadshow
The Public Protector South Africa (PPSA) and the Gauteng Provincial Government are set to enter into an agreement aimed at ensuring that requests for investigation-related information, among other things, are responded promptly to expedite investigative processes. COVID issues feature in direct provision complaints to Ombudsman
Issues relating to COVID featured in many complaints to the Ombudsman in 2020 from people in direct provision. Complaints about the movement of people from existing accommodation, the transfer of people to self-isolate in the Citywest complex, and allegations that staff within direct provision centres were not ensuring compliance with public health guidelines were among the complaints dealt with by the Ombudsman.
