Les Etats membres de l’Union européenne ont jusque fin 2021 pour transposer les règles dans leur législation nationale. Le réseau NEIWA, pour Network of European Integrity and Whistleblowing Authorities, regroupe une vingtaine d’institutions publiques européennes chargées de veiller à l’intégrité et à la bonne gouvernance. Le Médiateur fédéral en est membre.

Control Yuan welcomes FIO President and Dominican Ombudsman Pablo Ulloa for Special Address
The Control Yuan was honored to host the distinguished President of the Federación Iberoamericana del Ombudsperson (FIO) and Ombudsman of the Dominican Republic, Mr. Pablo Ulloa, along with his delegation, for a special address and visit on 18 October 2023. This visit holds significant importance, marking President Ulloa’s first return visit to Taiwan since 2017.

The preventive powers of the police should be assessed
The Ministry of the Interior should take the preventive powers of the police under review for further development, according to the proposal of Parliamentary Ombudsman Petri Jääskeläinen. The current regulatory framework apparently does not fully cover all necessary eventualities.

2019 Annual Report of Danish Parliamentary Ombudsman now available in English
The English-language version of the 2019 Annual Report of the Danish Parliamentary Ombudsman has now been published. Niels Fenger, who took up the position of Parliamentary Ombudsman on 1 December 2019, points out the value of uncovering recurring errors in order to help many citizens at the same time and stresses that a guiding principle for him is to apply the institution’s resources where they can be of the greatest possible use in protecting citizens’ legal rights.
