Este martes 6 de abril se cumplen 40 años de la aprobación de la Ley Orgánica 3/1981 que regula y desarrolla la figura del Defensor del Pueblo. En estas cuatro décadas de historia, la Institución ha tramitado 999.358 quejas, ha formulado a las Administraciones 25.376 resoluciones y ha interpuesto 31 recursos de inconstitucionalidad y 11 recursos de amparo ante el Tribunal Constitucional.

Ocho candidaturas presentadas para la elección de la nueva síndica o el nuevo síndic de Barcelona
Durante los dos últimos meses, entre el 15 de enero y el 15 de marzo, el tejido asociativo de la ciudad ha presentado ocho candidaturas para el cargo de síndic o síndica de greuges de Barcelona, personas escogidas por las entidades por su trayectoria personal y profesional y por su conocimiento de la ciudad. Las ocho candidaturas presentadas significan un importante incremento respecto al proceso de elección del 2016, cuando se presentaron cinco personas para el cargo.

Among others, this study examines the framework, structure, functions, and public relations of 135 Ombudsman Offices throughout the American Continent. UNESCO calls for COVID-19 vaccines to be considered a global public good
UNESCO’s International Bioethics Committee (IBC) and the World Commission on the Ethics of Scientific Knowledge and Technology (COMEST) have called for a change of course in current COVID-19 vaccination strategies, urging that vaccines be treated as a global public good to ensure they are made equitably available in all countries, and not only to those who bid the highest for these vaccines. Both committees have a long track record in providing ethical guidance on sensitive issues.
