2024-10-24Appointment of Acting Ombudsman and Ombudsman
The Chief Ombudsman announces that the Ombudsman Appointments Committee (OAC) had, in accordance with the requirements under Section 217(1) and (2) of the Constitution and Sections 4(3) and 11(a) of the Organic Law on the Ombudsman Commission, appointed Tabitha Suwae as an Ombudsman and Kevin Kepore as Acting Ombudsman. Mr. Kepore’s term as Accounting Ombudsman expired on 9 October 2024. The position of Ombudsman Accounting will be advertised publicly as is the current practice to give an opportunity for potential candidates to apply, including the Ombudsman.

To ensure disabled workers can take parental leave without undue stress, the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission (ACRC, Chairperson Ryu Chul Whan) has recommended that the employer’s obligation to pay employment levies during such leave be relaxed.

The Control Yuan (CY) conducted an on-site inspection of the Executive Yuan (EY) on December 19, 2025, led by Vice President Lee Hung-chun and joined by all Members of the CY. Vice President Lee noted that the CY’s oversight authority serves as an external supervisory mechanism for government administration, assisting executive agencies in reviewing policy implementation and responding to public concerns.

En el marco del convenio que se firmó con el Tribunal Electoral, la Defensoría del Pueblo realizó el pasado 5 de mayo de 2019 el proceso de observación electoral en 170 centros de votación a nivel nacional. La institución pudo observar un total de 2,008 mesas de votaciones, entre las que se encontraban 18 centros penitenciarios.

The aim of the event was to educate children in the spirit love to the environment, efficient use of our natural resources, shaping their ecological consciousness, also preservation of biological diversity.

The Taxpayers’ Ombudsperson, Mr. François Boileau, made a service improvement request to the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) in March 2024, asking it to make changes to prevent an issue blocking callers from reaching the CRA during its contact centres’ regular hours of service.
