A 71-year-old cancer patient died after a Health Board provided her with a “very poor standard of care”, the Public Services Ombudsman for Wales has found. The Ombudsman launched an investigation after receiving a complaint about the care given to Mrs X (anonymised) in December 2019 by Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board.

Las Instituciones del Defensor del Menor de Andalucía, Sindic de Greuges de Cataluña y Ararteko del País Vasco han realizado una declaración de posicionamiento sobre la “Evaluación del impacto sobre los derechos de la infancia” (CRIA), instando a los Estados, las autoridades nacionales, regionales, europeas e internacionales y a todas aquellas autoridades competentes a aplicar los procesos de evaluación de los derechos de la infancia y el análisis de impacto sobre dichos derechos.

Romanian Constitutional Court reinstates People's Advocate
In recent weeks, a lasting crisis concerning the People's Advocate of Romania came to a head. Earlier this year, in May, the Romanian Parliament had taken the unprecedented and legally controversial step to reject the last three annual reports of the People’s Advocate. Subsequently, on 16 June, the Parliament voted to dismiss the incumbent, Ms Renate Weber, for alleged violations of the law. This week, the Romanian Constitutional Court ruled on a challenge to this dismissal and found it to be unconstitutional.
